NEW VERIFICATION BADGE BEING TESTED BY GOOGLE ADS
A redesigned authentication badge is starting to surface in Google Ads for approved advertisers. The new verification badge, featuring a blue shield with a white checkmark, was revealed by Saad AK on Twitter:
When users click on the badge, they are directed to My Ad Center, where Google displays details about the advertiser's name, verification status, and location.
Google has recently been experimenting with a variety of blue badge styles and labels. In a previous discussion, we mentioned a verification badge tested in Google Ads, which was discovered and shared by Khushal Bherwani on Twitter. That specific design displayed a blue circle with ridges and a checkmark inside.
The importance of this update stems from the perception of verification badges as symbols of trust by consumers. This subtle change could potentially lead to an increase in clicks, enhanced click-through rates, and elevated conversion rates for advertisers featuring the badge.
